The 22-year-old will star in the ABC drama Nashville, in which she’ll play a Taylor Swift-esque country singer who starts touring — and butting heads — with a veteran country singer, played by Friday Night Lights star Connie Britton.
Panettiere previously played cheerleader Claire on NBC’s Heroes from 2006 to 2010, but this will be the first time she’s shown off her vocal chops on TV.
