Some advertising images that may or may not have been intended for
public consumption have the Kardashian family up in arms. The potential
advertisements, created by ad agency JWT India on behalf of Ford India
are caricature renderings, promoting the Ford Figo. One of the drawings
depicts a bikini-clad Kim Kardashian with her sisters, Kourtney Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian, bound and gagged in the back of a vehicle, as Paris Hilton
winks from the driver's seat. The ad reads, "Leave your worries behind
with the Figo's extra-large boot." That's a lot of junk in the trunk,
Ford.
It is unclear whether anyone at Ford
India ever saw or approved the images, but a spokeswoman for the company
issued a statement on the matter, calling the images "contrary to the
standards of professionalism and decency within Ford." Sethi Deepti
explains, "We take this very seriously and are reviewing approval and
oversight processes, and taking necessary steps to ensure nothing like
this ever happens again."
As for the ad agency,
JWT's CEO says, "These were made as posters by individuals. They have
never been paid for and were not expected to be released."
Despite
this fact, the Kardashians are fighting mad. The family sent a
statement to "omg! Insider" in response to the much buzzed about images.
"The 'Leave Your Worries Behind' Ford ads are disgusting, vile and
offensive to all women," reads the statement. "It is unacceptable that
Ford would align itself with an ad agency that would so carelessly
release these ads. The Kardashians do not take this lightly and they are
exploring all of their legal options."
